ABOUT US

The Department of Inland Revenue, AJ&K is working since December, 1947 and is the foremostrevenue collecting agency of the State. The Department is responsible for collection of Direct Taxes i.e. Income Tax and Provincial Taxes (GST, FED, Education Cess, motor tax, professional tax and registration of motor vehicles etc). The Inland Revenue Department is working under the administrative and financial control of Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir as an attached Organization of Finance Department.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be an exemplary model as an administration that promotes formal economy by embracing economic activities, that provides voluntary compliance by protecting taxpayer rights and collects taxes and other revenues by offering quality service. Our main function is to ensure the timely and easy payment of taxes, which are used as the main source to increase the investment, production and employment as well as continuous delivery of the public services to our citizens.

OUR MISSION

We are going to implement internet-based taxpayer services: all internal transaction documents such as e-filing, e-notice and all external transaction documents Interactive Tax Office mobile application, Prefilled Tax Return System, Taxpayer Feedback System and Interactive Tax Consultant, aimed at effectively responding to the expectations of our taxpayers in the most rapidly developing areas of technological innovations, economic activities and emerging new investments.
